Intuit Enterprise Suite Consolidation and Multi-Entity QuickBooks with AI

IES has consolidated reports and eliminations built in. Separate QuickBooks Online companies need spreadsheets or other tools. Here is where an AI connection to several companies helps, and where it stops.

Intuit Enterprise Suite (IES) consolidates natively: it runs consolidated reports, removes intercompany balances you select, and records intercompany journal entries from the parent company. For separate QuickBooks Online companies, Intuit documents combined reports in a spreadsheet, and the mapping and eliminations happen in your own workpaper or another tool. An AI connection to several companies does not replace either. Through DeepLedger, it can pull each company's reports in one conversation, line them up and prepare eliminations for your review. It has no consolidation tool of its own.

The IES facts below come from Intuit's help articles, most last updated in August 2026. Menu names have changed between IES releases, so check them against your account.

What IES consolidation does natively

Intuit's multi-entity eliminations and journal entries guide covers the core features. You need an active IES subscription with more than one company.

  • Consolidated reports. Under Multi-entity → Overview → Consolidated reports: profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow statement, and A/R and A/P aging summaries. Spreadsheet Sync adds multi-period balance sheet and profit and loss reports and trial balances.
  • Eliminations by account. Choose intercompany elimination accounts for each company. IES then removes the full balances of those accounts from consolidated reports.
  • Manual eliminations. For accounts that also carry outside activity, you adjust the Eliminations and Consolidated statement columns in a Spreadsheet Sync download. Intuit says these manual adjustments are not posted back to IES.
  • Intercompany journal entries. From the parent company, open a journal entry and turn on Intercompany transaction to add a Company column. Intuit recommends recording between two companies at a time.
  • Shared chart of accounts. The Primary Admin manages it from the parent company under Settings → Your company → Shared chart of accounts, and chooses which companies receive each account. See Intuit's shared chart of accounts guide.

Intuit's spring 2026 release notes add transaction-level eliminations generated when an intercompany transaction is recorded, plus cross-company bill pay and a multi-entity command center in beta. Its multi-entity page answers "Can you support entities outside the US?" with "Not at this time."

What stays manual across separate QuickBooks Online companies

Each QuickBooks Online company is its own set of books. Combining them is work you do outside each company.

QuickBooks Online Advanced offers multi-company reporting through Spreadsheet Sync. There, you create a group of companies, choose its currency, and can include Simple Start, Essentials and Plus companies. Then Build multi-company reports produces a multi-period balance sheet, multi-period profit and loss or trial balance in your spreadsheet.

Intuit's rule for that report: accounts combine only if they have the same name, the same type and sit at the same level. A spelling difference or a different account number keeps them apart. The article does not cover eliminations.

The rest is yours to do: mapping accounts that do not match, finding intercompany balances, writing eliminations, translating currencies and reviewing the result.

What an AI connection to several companies can do

One DeepLedger connection reaches every QuickBooks Online and IES company you can access, and each company needs its own Intuit authorization in DeepLedger. The AI agent works in one active company at a time and switches when you ask. The multi-company connection guide explains the switching rules; the IES connection guide covers authorizing IES entities.

With that, the AI agent can:

  • Run the same report for each company with matching dates and, where the report supports it, the same accounting basis: profit and loss, balance sheet, trial balance, cash flow, agings, general ledger and others
  • Read each company's chart of accounts and list accounts whose names or types do not match across companies
  • Read both sides of an intercompany balance, such as a due-from in one company and the due-to in another, and show the difference
  • Draft proposed elimination entries as a table for your workpaper, or as a DeepLedger review task
  • Record an ordinary journal entry in one company after you approve it

It cannot:

  • Run IES consolidated reports or read IES elimination settings. DeepLedger's report tool runs reports for the active company only and has no consolidated report.
  • Create an IES intercompany transaction. Its journal entry tool records into one company at a time.
  • Produce consolidated statements. A sum of company reports is not a consolidation.

A consolidation prep workflow with prompts

Replace the company names and dates with your own. Start read-only and keep it that way until the review is done. To enforce that, have a teammate with Read-only access run these steps.

1. Confirm the entities.

Using DeepLedger, list the companies I can access with their
QuickBooks connection status. Do not create or change anything.

2. Pull the same report from each entity.

For each of North Ridge Holdings, North Ridge Services and North Ridge
Supply: switch to the company, confirm its name and home currency,
and run the trial balance as of October 31, 2026, accrual basis.
Show each company's name and the report date with its results, and say
whether debits equal credits. Do not record anything.

3. Check what will not combine.

Compare the chart of accounts in the three companies. List accounts
that exist in only one company, or that share a name but have a
different account type. Do not change any accounts.

4. Reconcile intercompany balances.

In North Ridge Services, show the balance of Due from North Ridge
Supply as of October 31, 2026. Switch to North Ridge Supply and show
Due to North Ridge Services on the same date. Show both amounts and
the difference, then list the transactions behind any difference.

5. Draft eliminations for review.

Draft the elimination entries a consolidation of these three
companies would need for October 2026, as a table with account,
debit, credit and reason. Do not record them in any company. Create
one DeepLedger task with the table for my review.

Check every figure against the source reports before it goes into your consolidation workpaper or into IES. If an entity has a different home currency, decide the translation method yourself; the agent should flag the difference, not choose a rate.

For a side-by-side comparison rather than a consolidation, use the multi-company reporting workflow.

Frequently asked questions

Does Intuit Enterprise Suite consolidate multiple entities?

Yes. IES runs consolidated profit and loss, balance sheet, cash flow and A/R and A/P aging summary reports, removes the balances of intercompany accounts you select, and records intercompany journal entries from the parent company. Intuit says it does not support entities outside the US.

Can QuickBooks Online consolidate several separate companies?

Intuit's US help documents one built-in route. In QuickBooks Online Advanced, Spreadsheet Sync can group companies and build multi-company balance sheet, profit and loss and trial balance reports in a spreadsheet. Accounts combine only when name, type and level match, and eliminations stay in your workpaper.

Can an AI agent consolidate QuickBooks companies?

Not by itself. Through DeepLedger, an AI agent can pull the same report from each company, line them up, flag accounts that will not combine, compare intercompany balances and draft elimination entries for review. DeepLedger has no consolidation or elimination tool, and it cannot run IES consolidated reports.
